Daisho Con

This year it's planned for May 8-10 in its usual spot, Rosemont Il.
I'm planning on going for friday saturday and sunday, is anyone else going?

Absolutely! I'm very excited! I loved my first year at ACen last year. I'm going with Kara Kuro, Aminar, SKS and others.

The best part is that I get to debut my new wig for my Neku costume. (Kara is going to help me style it)

Also: Soap Bubble for life.

Sadly, this will be the first ACen since '04 I'm not attending. It's been less appealing and too much trouble lately, so I'm opting for Detour this year.

awww...that's a shame. Have fun at Detour. That's one I'd like to check out, but I can't make this year.

It is true... Acen's gotten a little.... annoying as of late.

My only annoyance last year was registration. If I wasn't pre-registered this year....I would highly consider whether it was still worth goi...ah who am I kidding, it was still fun.

But yeah, my entire Friday was killed last year by the 7 1/2 hour pre-reg. line that I sat in with Studski...I've never done so much pictochat in my life

I generally don't attend any convention that Cheesus+Macha aren't attending. So no Acen for me. Not a fan of wading through big cons anyway.

Yeah, well, I actually cheated on that line.
Long story short, It was my first con(yes I was/still am a noob.) my group didn't pre-register, we tried the day of, the site was hacked, we nicely complained to the staff, and they took us to the front of the line within 5 minutes.
It was nice. =D

unfortunately we had one of those momcopter chaperones around us, and she didn't let us go to the soap bubble dance. I really really wanted to go.
so that's why I reserved a hotel for two days. I'm freaking psyched.

Edit: Oh and, for you guys going, we should have a daishocon reunion, yes?

i've never been to acen and wanted to go so bad this year, but i have finals that weekend , hopefully i'll still be able to go to nobrandcon though.

I won't be able to go either. UWL has finals starting the day after(I get a 7:45 on the first day ), plus Mothers Day is that weekend, and they don't let anyone request off of work that day. Wish I could, but they choose a bad time of year every year, either the weekend before finals, or the weekend after, in which case everyone is booted from campus and I wouldn't be able to go with anyone.
