Well I overall liked it. The thing I felt you Nick were a tad too monotone. I have seen you get into character as Ed Elric and you told off Duct Tape Boy and won a prize. Now here you were kind of a bit more monotone. I think maybe you could improve you character. On that, maybe you need a partner so you both make funny jokes. But you did do good especially with me and Harley's Skit.

I think it was good. the biggest thing was the FFVII group. That wasnt your fault tho. you gave them MANY different hints to leave, and they couldn't seem to figure it out or listen to you. but yeah i thought it was good. i'd have to say maybe a lil more tone in the voice is it. or Maybe less even to create a Ben Stein effect and make a Bueller, Bueller joke. but yes overall everything was good. including interactions with and intros and outros to the contestants. although i loved the whole game master being ownd by a game line. thats happened to me in many games to as it has to everyone. but this game master has mastered the almighty Mini Moni GBA game.

Everybody involved did a great job. Nick, you seemed a little jittery at times, but I suppose that's natural for being the first time hosting something like this. If you're going to use the No Brand model where the host interacts and banters with the contestants, a partner who's equally quick-witted would be a good idea.

Unless you pre-judge the entries, when stopping a contestant who's too eager to get off stage, position yourself to make sure they face the audience, especially the judges. And while I personally think that being able to stay in character while answering questions on the spot is part of the deal with cosplay, some people just aren't that good at impromptu play-acting. I don't know how much of that went into the judging, but perhaps awards for craftsmanship and showmanship are in order. Some way to make sure that either a contestant with a great costume that can't deviate from the script isn't punished or someone with a really snappy retort that embodies the character perfectly gets recognized.

I think ya did a great job Nick. I probably had more specific things to tell you but I've forgotten them temporarily.

I can always tell ya later.

Okay, I can address most of these in order.

Langland, I see where you're coming from man and I'll work on that.

Harley, more or less same response but thank you both for your input.

1stAgent, pretty much yeah, it was more the affect of never having done this before. I promise I will work on improving it. I also admit that I should have been more clear with the contestants to stay up there, but their ability to act the part was more scored like "extra credit." They could earn points for it but they wouldn't loose any if they didn't like being on stage.

Kara Kuro: Thanks much, I'll see you soon.

Concensus seems that I need a side-kick or a partner in crime. Noted. I'll be working on that.

To everyone who attended or participated. I thank you again for making this such a wonderful experience. I hope you all had fun

Well Nick, I might be willing to be your cosplay 'MC' partner in crime next year. If you'd like. Not sure what I'm doing costume wise-next year.

Nick you did a great job but like I mentioned before to you, you just needed to give out a little more instructions on like what we were supposed to do up on stage. I know for my self I was very confused and so were a few others. Just something to work on next year otherwise you did a amazing job. You really did!

Based on what I'm reading here, maybe you can publish a sheet a couple of weeks before the con that has all the stuff people will be judged on?

And also, instead of counting the ability to actually answer questions in character as part of the main contest, give a prize for the person that was the best at being in character. That way, people that don't like being on stage or are nervous about speaking in front of people aren't intimidated. Because, even if it is extra credit, those are points that the nervous ones can't get.

Just something small that I think would help :) And yes, I realize a lot of what I post around here seems like I'm being critical, but I'm just trying to help out with what sounds like it could make it easier on you. It sounds like it was a great contest overall, though, and I wish I had gone to see it despite not participating!

It was good, but you needed someone to play off of. All the best comedians were duos. :)

And the best one is a foursome. And I think you might have a guess who I am referring too.
