I'll be sending most of you e-mails soon, but I'm home for Easter Celebration, so I'll be not online for most of the weekend except for a little bit at night. I think that instead of a "practice" podcast, we start with a general Skype meeting. I know this week is bad for Capito, so let's get some times down so that most of us can be there. I'll be taking notes and I'll post them in this thread.
I've got quite a few ideas for the show and I want to hear your input, but we will need to make some decisions as to what show we want to make at that meeting. It doesn't need to be set in stone, but we need something at least to start us off. The big question will be: Two guys shooting the breeze style (
www.diggnation.com) or a pre-produced show, heavily mixed at the endgame? (
www.thecaverntoday.com) The Mixed Pre-produced style can provide a much higher quality, and we can diversify the show format a lot, while the random-panel show needs to be led well so that the show doesn't fly off the track. However, the panel discussion has a lot more interaction between staff members live, and has a faster production schedule. Or we can do a mash-up of the two. Round-table with the Pre-Produced segments added as commercials/filler, or otherwise to break up the pace. Pre-produced with a major segment being "DaishoTalk, the round table disscusion forum about all things Geekdom".
So, I'm asking you to post a day/time/whenever will work for you to be either on Skype, or in the UWSP area. On my Desktop at the dorms I have the program to record skype calls, and if we need to we can do some things there, otherwise I'll take notes for the meeting.
Also, for the meeting, I want everyone to come up with something to say about the format, segments, or topics for the show. Be creative, be unique. Nothing's a stupid idea until we try it once.
Oya Mando'a!
