But if people didn't debate how would they decide if an idea was good or not? Simply going with the first idea would be terrible.

*Ahem* debating is a terrible thing to do. It drives people apart and can often be boring. This argument also coincides with the reasoning that we should solve all our differences with violence.

Debating is often tedious cuz you need to go and find out about the subject you're debating on otherwise someone will just tear your arugment apart.

Debating also makes people feel stupid since it's often an intellectual battle and if you can't keep up, then you start feeling bad about yourself, and we don't need to feel bad about themselves.

Hopefully these points will help you see that debating is silly and shouldn't be done on this thread.

Debating allows you to get another perspective about an issue you may have a fallacy on. Debate should be constructive, building off of our differing opinions.

Debating is tedious. If you don't know about your subject, than your argument will be taken apart. That's the point. Debate to learn about a subject and perspectives of it. Just don't get offended. Feeling hurt doesn't make an argument better or worst.

People might feel bad, but doesn't mean they shouldn't debate. It just means that they shouldn't let themselves be offended so easily.
