I dunno, the women around here have been totally pissing me off lately with double standards and ignorance. There was a girl I was on and off interested in from about december until february, and we saw each other a bunch and even established that we both would probably end up dating. Her reason for not wanting to advance anything was simple, her last boyfriend was an asshole and cheated on her so she didnt want to rush into anything yet. She was honest, and for good reason, so I was like 'oh thats cool'.

So we kept hanging out and stuff and talked alot, then out of the blue one day she sends me a message going "i dont want to keep leading you on anymore, ive been seeing a guy for a while and its not fair to you. sorry"

And then i was sorta pissed, for good reason.

Since then there's been a couple of girls I've been semi interested in. But once again its all wishy washy poopy were they say one thing and do another. One girl would keep telling me how nice i was and stuff, and then out of the blue just decides to stop talking to me all together. One of my ex's keeps randomly asking me if i could be her date to her friends wedding, and I really dont want to be a token date. And then the cherry on top of all this is a more recent friend of mine who keeps complaining about the current guys in her life, aka stupid "stuck-in-high-school-mentality" jocks who quite obviously want her just for sex, but refuses to change the type of guys she dates. She'll keep saying 'i wish i could have a nice down to earth guy who likes to just hang out and not need to be at a bar all the time' (aka she basically described me in a general aspect) but then KEEPS going to the same places looking for guys. She's basically the woe-is-me type who wants the big jock guy without the big jock personality, aka have her cake and eat it.

Ugh. In short, the women around here suck. And I really cant move to a different place because I have a stable job here that I really enjoy, plus moving in this economy would be stupid. Plus there arent enough decent looking gamer/anime girls around here who are single (i know, it makes me look shallow mentioning decent looking. For the record looks arent everything, but they still matter).

Well, most of the Daisho folk around here are from the Point/Rapids/Wausau area. Any single girls want a reliable down to Earth (and perhaps slightly boring) guy? hahahahaha

And yet I can't seem to find any girl. In fact, at No Brand Con this year, I came across what I like to think of as my ex still on crutches and I was kind of pissed off about it. For some reason for injury just made me mad. She is a nice girl but she lead me on, and I should mention this event below

Other than that I am currently talking to fellow Daisho Con Goer and she is very nice but I don't want to give my hopes up because she finds boyfriends very easily.

I know a lot of people blame my standards but I still feel what I like in women is good enough and not really shallow. I doubt "Average" looking is that shallow. Plus beauty is all in the eye of beholder. Also I doubt having a preference for shorter women is wrong either because that is what I like. And I like Brown hair, it's a hair color I really like. And hell I always call it a bonus but Blue eyes do a lot too but I don't follow that one very closely since it's rare on brunettes.

But still yea, I know the frustrations of not finding a good women out there. I guess that's why we become champs of the Video Games, D+D, and WoW, or whatever nerdy hobby you like to pursue.

I am mildly offended by the implications of this statement. Just because you find a wonderful girl doesn't mean you instantly stop attempting to excel in other areas, or that the reverse is true either. We become champs of games/activities because we enjoy them and desire to be good at them, not simply because we don't have other things to fill the time.

As far as I know, from the symptoms i'm seeing, chances are they just don't know how to let you down to begin with. It sucks, but it's extra hard to let someone down if you do care for them. I think that's why people can get all wishy-washy. I had a good friend that wanted to get into a serious relationship and it was one of the hardest things I could do to tell her I wasn't ready for one yet.

Welcome to my world. Every gal I have ever expressed serious interest in as given me the "friends only" speech or has pretended like I don't exist.

Well, Mr. X, I guess it will all boil down to what you call "decent-looking" Seeing as its very vague, I can only assume that you are somewhat restrictive in the height category (like Langland) or weight (since that seems to be the two major areas guys judge on)

I also don't see where you're from listed under your name. If you're in the Stevens Point area then I'm sure there are (in my opinion) "decent looking" gamer girls around due to the very fact that I have friends in the area, some are out of town and come to town weekly to game.

I know how much it sucks to be single but I keep saying that someone will come along when you least expect it. Its like people are attracted to confidence, so once you're happy with your life in general, a girl will come to you. Hopefully, you don't base your happiness on the ability to have a girl.

My opinion of decent looking is kinda vague, plus I dont like attemping to describe it because I'm always afraid of saying something that'll make me look shallow or something lol. When it comes to looks for me, I kinda just need to see the person and determine. Height isnt as much of an issue for me lol, so if a girl is tall it doesnt bug me (i'm 6'4'' myself). Yeah, I figure there are more girls up my alley in the point area... problem is I dont go up to point that often nor do I have a reason to head up there that often, let alone go to someplace SOCIAL lol. I only have one friend who current even lives up there.

There is no such thing as luck with women, there is only poor compatibility or poor courting practices, or standards set way too high. Luck only enters on running into compatible single people, and that is more based upon searching practices.

To me Luck is in the Eye of the beholder... I like to get paper cuts... they make me laugh
