Gundam on TV in the US Again!

Postby Nick Izumi on Mon Nov 24, 2008 4:45 pm

The Scifi Channel is running Gundam 00 tonight at 10! I'm so psyched.... Well I've been geeking out with various people from these boards about it all day! (What a great was to follow up the con eh?)

ZOMG Inuyasha in Gundams!

Seriously. The voicecast is creepy-similar.

(Yes. I know I ruined the experience for all you hardcore gundam fans, but that was the point!)

I don't hold anything against the voice cast of Inuyasha...all I say is "forgive them, Father, for they know not what they are doing..."

Anyway. I really enjoyed the first two episodes tonight. I have to say that the commercial breaks seemed kind of strangely placed. I like the robot designs, they seem more down to Earth. Airing two episodes a week is a nice touch, I must say! I'll probably be able to see all of this season before I fly off to Germany. I may be buying some new model kits in the near future...

I'm not used to commercials being so darn short. I thought for sure with American commercialism that Scifi would sell-out a bit more than it has. So long as someone keeps reminding me that they are on this time every monday, I'll watch the whole thing through. Elsewise I'll forget about it by next week. :/

Loving the mecha, I have since I saw the designs. The animation is amazingly fluid. Japan's getting this on Blue Ray and right now I'm quite jealous. Too bad I don't have a blue ray player and $60 for a japanese disk but meh.

I loved the Mechwarrior feel of the enemy mechs and the Gundams are so graceful.

I have to say that, sadly, I lost interest about halfway through. That might have been more due to the wait in between eps than the show itself, though. *considers* I like to watch my shows in one marathon run.

I did love the animation, and the concept of it being near future was pretty neat. ^^ And the designs of the characters and Gundams rocked.

Sci-fi, you say? I'll have to check it out again.

As I have said before Gundam 00 is the series that fully restored my faith in Gundam (after the mess that was Gundam Seed Destiny <curse you endless clip shows and angsty characters :x >). In any case I'm happy to see that the dub of it turned out well, regardless of what others may say, I think the dub got a lot of the voice right (Setsuna, Graham and Patrick were all particularly well done. Also yhr animation, the mecha, and the music were all awesome. In any case I am looking forward to the ride. Now if you excuse me I have an armed intervention to take part in.

Totally late on the festivities here on the board, but Nick and I totally fangasm'd after the first showing on scifi. I think we pretty much covered everything... summing it all up to: this show fluxing rocks.

Allelujah Haptism is mine though. I has claims.
I also can't decide wether I want to cosplay as Alle or as Tieria. I have beefs with the pink cardigan sweater.

Although at work today. There was a pink cardigan sweater in front of me. So since it was dead slow I grabbed it, walked in front of the mirror and tried it on. I can rock a pink cardigan like srs business. It was empowering.
