I've been officially recognized as a student of UWSP. so in honor of it I'm starting a new World of darkness campaign in UW marinette I made a campaign that started strong and had like 10 participants. So I'm learning from the mistakes I made last time and starting new campaign. it will take place again in Grimnville a city I made that's on the middle east coast. Grimnville is a multiindustrial city first starting as a silver mining town and was very prosperous. in the mid twenties though there was a disaster miners were found slaughtered and others driven into madness. Soon they abandoned the silver industry and was taken favor of a fishing and with the funds from the former silver mine and the fishing industry the mayor made the decision to expand and open the Grimnville University and theme park. The fishing industry and Theme park were later closed after their own tragedies and the university is the main draw of the city. (its pretty much a college town now)

I'll start this out with 5 main participants and Couchmaster. it will be centered around an apartment building this time weather you want to be students is up to you anythings open but you will all live in this building. its a 6 story complex with 50 rooms 11 13 and 15 are taken. on the ground level is a lounge and a bar. The owner is a young woman who goes by the name Katt.

I'll be starting the campaign when I move to Stephens point either in the summer or beginning of fall semester. however we can discuss preparations and backgrounds here for your character. Zack if you want Jack Cunningham we will have to discuss some things.

That sounds like a lot of fun, I'd love to play if the invite's open.

as long as your committed to play I welcome you with open arms the only condition is you have to be human. no supernaturals. every character goes in green to the supernatural. that was the big problem last time was when I started to incorporate the supernatural for character use it became boring.

Where are you playing Sid? Point or Marionette? How often, etc?

Point and I dont know it depends on my schedule for school. Probably at least once a week though.

Would this be online, tabletop....? I'm kind of interested, but not sure what exactly it is.

WOD stands for World of darkness (you may have heard of incarnations such as vampire the masquerade/requiem or werewolf the apocalypse/forsaken) and unfortunetly no we would be getting together hanging out eating pizza and gathering around my silent hill maps.

(during the last campaign I used maps from silent hill and then adapted the buildings to what I wanted and what I thought should be in them. I'll probably be reusing a few of the maps but hey it works as apposed to making floor plans for every building.)

No one NEEDS dice I actually have 5 sets of WOD dice. but if you want to bring your own more power to you. I suggest getting your own WOD book if you can I myself need a new one cause I gave away my old one. (I knew I would need to buy the redone version of the book.) I wont be lending out mine all the time so people can learn the rules. This time there will be a definite focus on a singular enemy type rather than trying to amalgum all the incarnations. (vampire, werewolf. promethean. etc) I wont say witch one will be emphasized. but there will be at least one other race incorporated as well.

like I had previously stated though you probably wont be anything but human. I do more of a cthulu esque type campaign were danger is emphasized by the fact that if you face a 7 foot werewolf in its Garou form you WILL die if you try and fight it.

You will fear the dark.

When this becomes a reality please think of giving me a call. I love WoD and playing human, I usually do even if I could be something else. I once made a half breed vampire hunter, kind of a blade character only much more awesome.

Wod is so much more fun than D&D not as many nasty rules to get into the way. I'll keep an open spot for you chadam but keep in mind I'm not a veteran GM.

but so far Vulaas and CouchMaster and chadam? we need 3 more people at least.

oh by the way you cant really trust any of the source material. Its all basicly going to be coming out of my head. I'm only using world of darkness mechanics to flesh out the gaming parts but if you talk to zack there isnt much in terms of dice rolling in my campaigns If I feel your character could do it you do it most the time. I do add chance to some of it but not to often.

IN ADDITION

exploits revolving around grimminville will be eventualy be in webcomic or actual comic format. depending on how well it goes it will be either heavily written from the campaign or losely.

I really would like some women to play to cause we had quite a few play during the last campaign and they were quite entertaining to have instead.


so please Vulaas, Chadam, and Couchmaster I'ld like to start working on your bios at least. do you have any ideas as to what kind of character you would like to portray anything is open hell Chadam if you wanted to own a hobby store in griminville I'ld allow it as long as you put some realistic points under your funds.


Also I'll be making rendition of all the characters involved eventualy for representation reasons.

And ah... When you say that you want female players does that mean were you'd prefer me to play a female character? I mean, I can, but I usually don't prefer to.

But if we need a female character I might be able to come up with something interesting enough.

Thats up to you I dont want to force people to do anything they really dont want to ya know? a female would be nice since it would be a comic later but its up to you.

Sid actually if it would be okay I would like to own and run an occult bookstore. I mean really, what WoD campaign couldn't use one of those? I will spend proper points where I need to. Think "Ray's Occult Books" from Ghostbusters 2. Not too big, just cozy enough that more than 5 people in it at a time would seriously congest the place. I would be more of the scholar of the group than say a fisticuffs kind character. Probably some points in computer use as well. Can keep up with the occult lifestyle without high speed internet and at least 2 monthly subscriptions to various occult themed websites. Anyway, it rough and kinda in the rough. So what do you think so far?

thats fine remember though this is a home brew and thus its my own twist on the occult. I did have a book store whose owner disapeared a while back you could have bought that one unless you want to have a history with your own book store. otherwise you could perhaps have some history with the previous bookstore maybe have been a coowner that lived elsewere till recently.

We can work on that. I like the link idea to the old owner. Let me think on that and ponder it.
