I think something that is being overlooked is that it is that the program is designed for a one-on-one fight.
This is the reason that tactics/the environment/etc. are not focused on as much. Theoretically, you have to pretend that the two warriors facing off are in an arena with no where to go. They just add in the forest for dramatic effect and filming purposes, the computer simulation program isn't designed to take any of that into account, and for good reason.
If they started including the environment it changes things completely and tons of different hypothetical variables arise. Things like hiding, climbing, rain, fog, using trees for defense/movement...that's all way too complicated for them to bother with.
The system is FAR from perfect, but it gives a good comparison on how the weaponry and armor of the two competing warriors match up.
To sum up my point: I don't mind that they dont' include tactical decisions, environment, athletic ability (these points are usually at least argued by the two sides during the show anyway which makes it fun). But, I do think it's stupid to include them in the simulation video then. Then again...it makes it cool to watch no?
Spittin' is a nasty habit...
