I've been attending cons since 1994, working at them since 1996, and have been running my own since 2002.

Also, I'm loud. :P

I see your loud and raise you a 'Kara' brand loud.

I agree with five. That seems like a good, odd number to me.

Before I sound COMPLETELY ancient, I should point out that I was only 15 when I started working at cons... I just lied about my age and no one questioned the 6'3" guy about the whole mess. :P

I could do the opposite. No one would think twice about calling me 12-16 with my 5'3ish height and pig-tails.

Oh, but now I'm all excited about this panel!

I bought alcohol at a local market, and they didn't even question my age or ask for my license. They just guessed that I was born in 1985.

Sigh...

Most science fiction cons have a panel called something like "What to do at your first con" that gives pointers, explanations, and advice, and it's run by experienced people. You might want to organize it as something like that, and run it early in the con.

Admittedly it's not the fun con stories part of it, but they could be worked in as examples

Probably, but I have little interest in a panel solely on giving advice. Last time I did that, I got roped into going to ACen despite having no job and no money. ;)

Ideally, the panel would be structured on sharing war stories, with Pro Tips stemming from our stories and mistakes. For example, after the Kari Wahlgren incident at ACen '07, my convention bag has become something of a diva and would certainly prompt a sidebar on what gear to bring.

I would imagine some of you guys would have tons of stories to tell and advice to give, and I'd love to hear them.

Heck I've been to one convention and I learned the hard way to bring some sort of bag if you plan on buying a decent number of items the hard way.

Thank god Monkey had cargo shorts on >.>
