Your Underbed

Postby capitocapito on Wed Apr 08, 2009 9:10 am

Recently, at the radio station I work at, we've all been asked to start using underbeds during our on-air wraps. We've been told that we can pretty much choose any instrumental track we like.

An underbed basically assists the DJ in sounding professional, and the DJ won't have to worry about ums, ahs, and short silences as much as the music distracts the listener from these sorts of things.

What would you choose as your "underbed"? What should play while you are talking. Keep in mind that there shouldn't be any spoken parts in the song that could interfere with you.

I think I might go with Sombre Detune by Röyksopp, just because it has a nice beat and we have their music at the station.

Oh I know what you're talking about. WIFC usually has a repetative track playing in the background during weather updates and On-Location broadcasts.

Lets see.. I think mine would probably be "The Egg and I" from Cowboy Bebop.

Oh, I forgot to mention: Extra Credit for whoever finds me an underbed that I like so much that I use it on my show.
