No one else insulted my way of being so strongly as you, thus, I am a little angry. Everyone else in this thread, though they did not agree with me, did not fall to petty arguments attacking my religion like this to make your point. I have hurt no one by my actions, and you can ask a number of my friends. Though I do not agree with homosexuality, I don't hate them. To do so would be a sin.

My entire faith, my entire reason for being, and even my entire life is structured upon the Word. I don't hurt people, and I try to be as kind and generous as I can, to gays and straights (?) alike. I don't understand how you think this can be harming people.

I have to side with Alhon on this one. You insulted his religion, whether you intended to or not. Sure, you may not agree with his beliefs. I don't necessarily either. But you worded your opinion so harshly that it had the potential to hurt someone.

You saying this is quite hypocritical, as you disrespecting Christians for their beliefs is the same as some Christians disrespecting homosexuals for their beliefs.

I think this topic has officially run its course, as people are now starting to become offended. I would request that the thread be locked, before the current discussion carries on any longer.

alexander74 and Alhon, I think we all got our points through on this part of the homosexual debate.

If you're a Christian that takes the biblical account literally, then you are held to God's Word to believe that homosexuality is against His glory, and is a barrier against God's kingdom.

If you do not prescribe to the above beliefs in some way (Christian or not), then you may have no inclination against homosexuality. Alhon has already stated that he has no problems with gays, but he is obligated to follow God's word.

Any more arguing on which of these views is wrong will be missing the point. Either you read the Bible to be inerrant here, or not, and you won't convince the other side to your point of view until you sway them on their religious interpretation. This isn't the place to do that. That turns into a different topic.

Hopefully that sums up both sides on this subtopic. Let's try to keep it clean from now on. Hopefully we can debate other issues of homosexuality, or maybe we should just lock this thread as is.

Just to note, I'm not trying to promote one view or another, I just want to keep the thread focused and civil. It seems that we have the literal-Christianity viewpoint covered on both fronts, for and against, at least as far as the original discussion goes.
