Roleplaying Challenge 2008

Postby ChAdam on Wed Sep 03, 2008 8:56 am

That's right at Daisho Con 2008, we are running the first annual (we hope) Roleplaying Challenge. It is very simple to play and the goal is to win. The game is Dungeons and Dragons 3.5! Here's what you do...

1. Get a group of 4 players (no player can be part of more than 1 group)
2. Register as soon as you can at [web]http://www.daishocon.com[/web] (they will have special registration set up)
3. Pay your $50 team fee (That's just $12.50/person)
4. Show up and play!
5. Winning team receives 4 copies of the new Dungeons and Dragons 4.0 core books (A $400 value!!)
6. Brag and repeat the next year.

Any questions feel free to contact me here or by PM or at chadamgames@yahoo.com

I look forward to hearing from all you roleplayers!!

As I'd imagine that this is a frequent question: What are the teams of four even doing? Straight up small area combat, tactical situations, situations where they'd have to roleplay a bit, or what? Any specific setting being used? Booklists?

The characters are pre-made. The teams will go through 3 settings, they are based in general 3.5 world. All teams will have the same characters. There will be three rounds. All teams will compete in the first round. Then based on points for roleplaying, collecting money, items, and killing evil doers, teams will be eliminated. Then round two will be the same situation (with a different adventure). Again, after round two more teams will be eliminated. The final teams will participate in a third round. After all rounds the winner will be based on the team with the most points after the three rounds (combined total).

Earning points will be determined prior to starting the competition.
Eliminations will be based on the total number of teams competing.
Prize is guaranteed with the entry of 10 teams.

Sounds interesting, but I won't be coming with 3 other D&Ders... perhaps I'll lurk in the shadows and step forward if someone needs a 4th...
