Repo! a Genetic Opera

Postby DeadSid on Fri Dec 26, 2008 4:21 pm

I haven't been this psyched to see a movie for a long time a new modern classic in cult film. It's a rock opera about a future were surgery is needed for the desire for perfection and Murder is legal to those required to repossess the organs you cant afford to pay for. Anthony Head witch you would know form buffy the vampire slayer as Giles plays one such repo man who has a daughter he wishes to shelter from this world but in his overprotection drives her away into that world.

I first discovered about this film when the poster came into work and I claimed it thinking the poster looked cool and the name was funny.

Later I looked it up and found oh my god the music and cinematic view of this is so incredible. I downloaded the soundtrack from Itunes and was even further amazed I liked EVERY SONG! But don't take my word for it. Buy the sound track, Rent it, Buy it, Tell others we need to support this kind of creative cinema.

you can preorder it for only 11 bucks on amazon. I am so excited, I am debating when I should buy a bunch of merchandise to support the film. I did get my 350 check from IADT however 100 of that did need to go to Stephens Point for the transfer fee. I really should start saving to.

I'd say if you've already pre-ordered the movie and OST, you've given them a pretty big salute. :)

I watched the trailer... sorry, but I can't really say I'm impressed. :( I guess I was spoiled with how good Dr. Horrible was, I was expecting this to be good too, but just too much gore.... you could have done away with the nasties and still told a story.

That being said.... go buy a Dr. Horrible DVD. :P

I love rock opera as much as the next chap, but It didn't look like something up my alley. Maybe I'll give it more of a fair shake when I get over the sight of Sarah Brightman and Paris Hilton singing together.

Looks interesting, I like the atmosphere and the plot is classic Scifi without ripping off 1984. I'll watch it at some point.
Given that I would never live that down, I made a wisecrack instead. "Do you have a little white dress? I've had this deep-seated nurse fantasy about you, Murphy."
