I would honestly think it would be better symbolism to take home your savior and keep Him close rather than to eat him, although technically for the three days he's there, he's about as close as you can get. From then onwards he's a brown and/or green blob in a sewer system somewhere. From the POV of an agnostic theist, I would like to recreate this set of events in other places around the world to see exactly how widespread religious irrationality is.

This is far from the first time we have seen this sort of thing. Anyone remember the cartoon that depicted Mohammed as a character in it. The Muslim world freaked out. There are crazy people everywhere. And this is what happens when you put them in positions (even if their minor positions) of leadership.

The point is that Christ lives in you, not in some sewer system.

The sewer system is where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reside.

I feel like the oddball. I'm a Catholic Here and you guys are kinda saying some things that sound a bit offensive and I have a feeling I'm gonna be trolled out of this discussion.

I brought this up to someone last night. He observed that it would be more of a sacrilege to have consumed the communion wafer without having celebrated the sacrament of First Communion.

It was a bit more controversial. I'm going off of memory, but I believe there were eight distributed comics. However, there were only five drawn by the guy from the dutch newspaper. Three of the comics (the most offensive ones) were fabricated.

If I find a link, I'll post it.

ISTR that both major Muslim sects have a prohibition against depictions of Mohammad. It didn't matter to them what he was shown doing, their complaint was that an image existed. It's like the iconoclasm that caused the separation of the east orthodox church from Rome.

As a Lutheran I got confirmed in 8th grade (I believe Catholics get confirmed younger), but yes I had wine. I remember it tasting terrible.

The norm these days seems to be around Junior year of high school. That was my experience in CCD and such, anyway. And many of my friends from different dioceses had similar experiences. *shrugs*

about that. I was confirmed at age 17 which is 2 years ago. my brother got confirmed this year. I just asked because if you had grape juice then I would have to laugh. Real Christians drink wine at communion. Actually I don't drink the wine often and it isn't a sacrelige to do so either. But still good to know you had the wine.
